Sheridan superfans love spotting the real places behind the shows. Here’s a fan’s guide to reported North Texas filming locations — with an important reminder up front: many sets are on private property or active businesses, so look, appreciate, and be respectful. This isn’t a backstage pass.
Fort Worth: the production home base
Fort Worth is the hub for much of Sheridan’s North Texas production work, and the city leans into its Western identity. The Fort Worth Stockyards area is the cultural heart of that cowboy heritage that runs through his shows — and a genuinely fun, very public place to visit.
Reported Landman spots
Per local reporting, Landman used several North Texas stand-ins for West Texas:
- An old auto body shop on Camp Bowie West Boulevard doubled as the Odessa “Patch Cafe.”
- A golf course northwest of Fort Worth stood in for the “Midland Country Club.”
- The small town of Jacksboro, northwest of Fort Worth, hosted filming.

The big one is not a visit
The Four Sixes (6666) ranch is real, but it’s a private working ranch way out in West Texas near Guthrie — a piece of history to read about, not a stop on a day trip. (Story here: Is the Four Sixes Ranch Real?.)
Make a day of it (respectfully)
The Stockyards, Fort Worth’s museums and food scene, and the general Western vibe make for a great DFW day even if you never spot a set. And if the area wins you over, the east side of the Metroplex — Collin County and the North/East suburbs — is where I help people put down roots.
